The Jest (The Jest)

The Jest stride back into the Edinburgh Fringe with their wonderfully witty sketches. From Luke Theobald’s hilariously accurate impression of Dame Maggie Smith to the brilliant gathering of some of the greatest writers at the Dead Poets Society, this hour of fun-packed comedy will leave you bubbling with laughter. Admittedly, there were a few sketches (specifically the Historical Misunderstandings and the pimp-at-the-strip-club sketch) that were not as funny and could have been cut from the performance. Nonetheless, these scenes were short enough to be quickly buried by the huge variety of other sketches, which were impressively fitted into the one hour slot. A slick, well-choreographed and energetic performance. These young comedians show great promise – watch out for them.
